  • Turnaround Times / Return Dates

    • Question: What do the GIA Turnaround Times and Return Dates mean

      Answer:

Formerly, GIA worked according to turnaround times (projected working days that it would take for a stone, from the day it was taken in until it will have grading results).

The GIA has recently changed their reference and refers now to "return dates". Return dates are the dates that GIA projects that stones will be ready for pickup at the lab with the complete grading report. These dates vary between the intake locations and between the various stone types and sizes. These dates take into consideration also weekends and scheduled holidays.

    • Question: What are the Return Dates for the moment?

      Answer:

For current published GIA Return Dates by location, please follow this link: http://www.gia.edu/gem-lab-return-dates
